Ranieri Tonissi has delivered the first MAN V12-2000 engines to AB YACHTS, an important shipyard based in Viareggio.
The MAN V12-2000 engine, produced by MAN in partnerhip with Ranieri Tonissi SpA, was introduced to the public during last Cannes Boat Show and is, sofar, the most powerful engine of MAN range.
AB Yachts ha installed these first three engines, with ZF gearboxes and MJP water jets, on the new AB 100, unveiled last May during Versilia Yachting Rendez Vous.
With the total power of i.e. 4.412 kW onboard the boat has reached 55 knots during the sea trial (equivalent to 102 km/h) giving excellent results in terms of consuption and noise.
The owner of this AB 100 is a European business man that will use such yacht in the Mediterranean Sea. With the new MAN V12-2000, AB Yacht increases AB 100 power of 100hp per engine.
“We relied on MAN engines thanks to their ideal combination between wight and power and to their comleteness. These characteristics are fundamental to get the performances that made our boats so famous in the world. With this AB 100 we are able, once again, to meet these goals” says Francesco Guidetti, head of AB Yachts.
Currently, the MAN V12-2000 is the only 2.000 hp V12 engine on the market able to reach such power with 24-liter displacement.
The engine high power density, 61kW per liter, the compact design, the light weight and the typical torque curve that characterizes all MAN engines, makes it the perfect choise for shipyards and boat designers int this high power range.
